The numbers alone speak for themselves. 0-60 in 3.1, 1/4 mile in 10.1 , the Nurburgring in 7:29. This is one incredible machine. But it also has a civilised side. It's a Mercedes-Benz, and that means all of the comforts and reliability one would expect from a Benz.
This car was ahead of it's time. When it came out the reaction was generally positive, but it was critisized for being too heavy and having an automatic transmission. Now 4 years later, the majority of supercars are near the SLR's curb weight and guess what? They have automatics.
This car is consistently faster on the track than the carerra GT because of it's forgiving driving dynamics which are attributed to it's weight and suspension. Of course it is faster to 60 and the quarter mile because of it's nearly 50% torque advantage. Sick!
